The UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon has denounced using force against Iran over the country’s nuclear energy program as “unacceptable” amid Israel’s escalating threats against the Islamic Republic.
In an interview with the French program “International,” which will be broadcast on Sunday, Ban expressed concern over the “violent rhetoric” about Iran's nuclear issue.
The UN chief called on all sides to try resolving Iran’s nuclear issue through dialogue, AFP reported.
The US, Israel and some of their allies accuse Tehran of pursuing military objectives in its nuclear energy program.
Tel Aviv has repeatedly threatened Tehran with a military strike under the pretext that Iran’s nuclear energy program includes a military component and has recently stepped up its war rhetoric against the Islamic Republic.
Iran has refuted the allegations maintaining that as a signatory to the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and a committed member of the International Atomic Energy Agency, it has every right to develop and acquire the nuclear technology for peaceful purposes.
Iranian officials have also promised a crushing response to any act of aggression against the Islamic Republic.
