Secretary of Iran's Expediency Council Mohsen Rezaei says the Zionist regime of Israel resorts to threats of attacking Iran in order to get concessions from the next US government.
Rezaei noted on Friday that Israel resorts to propaganda about attacking Iran because it fears that the next US government may implement the Palestine peace plan.
“The Zionist regime is concerned that the next US government may bring up and implement the Palestine peace plan, and they are afraid of this plan,” he said.
Rezaei further stated that Israel is also concerned about the international community’s pressure on the Tel Aviv regime to give concessions to the Palestinians because Israel is by no means willing to give such concessions.
The United States, Israel and some of their allies have repeatedly accused Iran of pursuing non-civilian objectives in its nuclear energy program with the Israeli regime repeatedly threatening Tehran with a military strike to force Iran to halt its nuclear energy work.
Iran rejects the allegations, arguing that as a signatory to the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and a member of the International Atomic Energy Agency, it is entitled to develop and acquire nuclear technology for peaceful purposes.
Iranian officials have promised a crushing response to any possible attack on the country’s nuclear facilities.
