Iran’s Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi says Palestine is the most important issue for the Muslim world as fighting oppression and supporting the oppressed is based on Islamic values.
“It is about six decades that a group [of Zionists] has forcefully driven the Muslim people of Palestine out of their territories and occupied their land,” Salehi said in a message to the third International Conference and Festival of Islamic Resistance in Isfahan on Wednesday.
The Iranian foreign minister noted that the Zionist regime [of Israel] uses money, force, and deception to brainwash people of the world [and] institutionalize its dominance over Palestine.
Salehi also referred to the designation of the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan as the International Quds Day by the late Founder of the Islamic Republic Imam Khomeini, saying that the Islamic Republic has kept the issue of Palestine alive so far.
The Iranian foreign minister stated that the Islamic republic has been able to present a model of Islamic resistance to the Islamic countries through the struggles of its people over the past 33 years.
Referring to the wave of the Islamic Awakening in North Africa and the Middle East, Salehi said the movement toppled lackey states of the colonialist powers and this issue will help the liberation of the Palestinian people in the near future.
