The Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei says Algeria has been Iran’s good partner and in anti-Israeli resistance front since the victory of the Islamic Revolution.
“There are great capacities for the expansion of economic, political and cultural ties between Iran and Algeria which must be activated,” Ayatollah Khamenei said Friday in a meeting with Algerian Parliament Speaker Abdul Qadir bin Saleh who is in Tehran to participate in the 16th Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM).
Bin Saleh, for his part, said participation of the heads of state and senior officials from different countries in the Tehran Summit under existing circumstances is very important and meaningful.
The Algerian official also expressed his country’s readiness to expand ties with the Islamic Republic, adding that this goal can be achieved by establishing joint commissions.
More than 100 countries are partaking in Tehran’s NAM meeting, which kicked off at the expert level in the Iranian capital on Sunday.
The meeting of the NAM heads of state commenced in Tehran on Thursday with an inaugural speech by the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.
