Two Iranian short films made by Mazdak Mir-Abedini and Mohammadreza Farzad are programmed to be screened at the 2012 Batumi International Art-House Film Festival (BIAFF) in Georgia.
Mir-Abedini’s Born of Human
and Farzad’s Blames and Flames
are to compete at the 7th edition of the festival.
Several eminent Iranian cineastes have also been invited to attend this year’s Batumi International Art-House Film Festival.
Manijeh Hekmat, Dariush Mehrjui, Mohsen Amir-Yousefi and Abbas Kiarostami and Ramtin Lavafipour will be the honorary guests of the festival.
Iranian directors Dariush Mehrjui and Mohammad Atebbai were members of the 2011 Batumi International Art House Film Festival jury.
Mehrjui judged the event's Feature Film Competition section and his successful films Leila
and The Pear Tree
were presented at a special screening program during the festival.
Some 40 feature-length movies and 40 short films from 22 countries are scheduled to be screened during the event.
Established in 2006, the Batumi International Art House Film Festival screens feature-length films, shorts and documentaries from around the globe.
The 7th Batumi International Art-House Film Festival will take place in the Georgian city of Batumi from September 16 to 23, 2012.
