Tehran 2012 short filmfest announces intl. animation line-up
The 2012 Tehran International Short Film Festival will run from October 1 to 7, 2012.
The 29th edition of Tehran International Short Film Festival (TISFF) has released the international animation line-up produced in various countries of the world.
Some 53 animations from 20 countries across the globe have been selected to compete at this year’s festival.
Iranian artists including Minou Farshchi, Shahabaddin Adel and Majid Sheikh Ansari have served in the selection committee of international section.
From among the selected countries, France with the highest number of competing animations in the festival (17 productions) has been landed on the top of the list.
Organized by the Iranian Youth Cinema Society, the 29th Tehran International Short Film Festival will run from October 1 to 7, 2012.
The Iranian Youth Cinema Society produces around 1,800 short films every year many of which have been screened in a number of international festivals.
The Society had earlier announced that at least seven member states of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) would take part in TISFF 2012.
This year’s event will be held in the Iranian capital of Tehran and some other provinces, said the deputy head of the Iranian Young Cinema Society, Hashem Mirzakhani.
The films are required to have been completed after January 1, 2010, with maximum running time of 40 minutes in all genres.
Some 2023 Iranian productions will take part in the event which shows a 91 percent increase compared to the previous edition, Mirzakhani said.
The 2012 Tehran International Short Film Festival (TISFF) will present fiction and experimental films as well as documentaries and animations from Iran and other countries such as Egypt, Lebanon, Indonesia, Palestine, Iraq, Jordan, Syria, Turkey, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Morocco and Qatar.
