“We know that no one in Pakistan, in Waziristan or in the mountains of Afghanistan are a threat to the United States and today the United States is using its war powers act that it has gained in 2001 under George Bush to kill innocent people in Pakistan, some of whom were not even 9 or 10 years old at the time and groups like the al-Qaeda in Arabian Peninsula did not even exist at the time,” Barry said
Over 200 people have been killed in drone attacks in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) of northwestern Pakistan in 2012.
The United States claims that its airstrikes target militants who cross the border into and out of Afghanistan, but local sources say most of the victims of the attacks have been civilians.
An American anti-war activist has branded Barack Obama as “assassin”, saying the US President has a “kill list” as US assassination drones continue to kill people in Pakistan’s tribal areas.
“This president is now assassin president; this president has claimed that he has a kill list that he gets together with his own advisors on ‘terror Tuesday’, they call it; they joke about it that they make a kill list and they decide who is going to live and who is going to die,” Tighe Barry told Press TV in an interview on Sunday.
“This is a total affront to the American people who do not really know what their president is up to or they do not really care,” he said. “But I prefer to believe in all my knowledge of the American public, they are not made clear by our media.”
As early as Sunday morning, an airstrike carried out by US assassination drones has killed five people and injured several others in Pakistan’s North Waziristan tribal area, which borders Afghanistan.
