Reports say the foreign-sponsored insurgents in Syria have received over a dozen surface-to-air missile launchers through southern Turkey. The terrorist Free Syrian Army has reportedly received 14 personal portable missile launchers through the city of Iskenderun in Turkey’s southern province of Hatay. US and Turkish officials are also informed about the issue, reports say. On July 31, the NBC News reported that nearly two dozen MANPADs (man-portable air-defense systems) were delivered to the insurgents in Syria by Turkey. On July 22, the Turkish Anadolu Agency reported that Ankara has deployed ground-to-air missiles on its border with Syria. Syrian President Bashar al-Assad told the Turkish Cumhuriyet daily in an interview in July that Turkey “has supplied all logistic support to the terrorists who have killed our people.” HSN/JR
