Homayoun Asadian’s ‘Kissing the Face of the Moon’ will be screened at the Vancouver Film Festival.

Veteran Iranian filmmaker Homayoun Asadian’s feature-length movie is scheduled to be screened at the 2012 edition of Vancouver International Film Festival (VIFF). Asadian’s movie Kissing the Face of the Moon was screened at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival. Produced by Manouchehr Mohammadi, the movie won acclaim at the 30th Iran’s Fajr International Film Festival. Asadian’s other cinematic creation Gold and Copper was also screened and lauded in several international events. Gold and Copper received the Italian prize of “In the Spirit of Faith” at the 2011 Religion Today Film Festival in Trento city. Founded in 1982, VIFF is among the five largest film festivals in North America that presents films from 80 countries on 10 screens in a bid to encourage understanding of the world’s cultures through the art of cinema. The 31st Vancouver annual International Film Festival is scheduled to be held from September 27 to October 12, 2012. FGP/HMV
