At least seven people have been killed and more than 30 others injured in an explosion on a bus carrying Israeli tourists in the eastern Bulgarian city of Burgas.
The explosion occurred on Wednesday at Burgas International Airport on the Bulgarian Black Sea Coast, about 400 kilometers (250 miles) east of the Bulgarian capital Sofia.
Press TV talks with Mohsen Saleh, a professor at the Lebanese University, regarding the issue. Below is an approximate transcript of the interview.
Israel's prime minister has accused Hezbollah and later Iran for the attack. Earlier, of course, Israel's Minister of Military Affairs Ehud Barack had a longer list that also included Hamas and Islamic Jihad. Is Israel trying to set the stage for new tensions in the region?
I do not think they are really preparing for any kind of attack because they cannot; that is one thing to say. The other thing is that they are preparing the ground for more attacks and violations of the human rights in Palestine, in Gaza, in West Bank and probably in violations of 1701, the UN resolution, concerning the borders in Lebanon and other media attacks against the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Of course the Israelis know what they have done. They assassinated scholars and scientists in Iran, in Tehran, through their agents or through their conspiracies with some parties like the United States and other European countries probably and they know they have left no space but to tell people they are an enemy of human rights and human lives even.
In Palestine and in Lebanon and in Iran and in Gaza, in West Bank and in Egypt, everywhere they left a huge space for animosities among this usurpation, among the Israelis, the Jews and other people.
That is why they feel they are in the corner; that is why they are saying or they are attacking and they are saying that Iran or Hezbollah or Hamas or Islamic Jihad…; of course Hamas or Islamic Jihad or Hezbollah, probably Hezbollah and Iran, never attacked the Israelis outside the battlefield, especially Hezbollah, when the Israelis were occupying South Lebanon, of course they have to be exposed to all kinds of operations against them because they were occupying Lebanon and are still occupying parts of Lebanon and occupying West Bank and parts of Gaza and Palestine as well.
That is why they feel they have to accuse somebody and they point to the people, they say that this is a rape of the Palestinian land.
Do you maybe see any link between these accusations and Israel's internal problems including a growing protest movement that seeks social justice and of course a shaky government after the Kadima Party quitted Benjamin Netanyahu's coalition?
Partially yes, but most probably I guess they are saying something to the United States and they want to pursue the peaceful nuclear program in Iran and they want to try to put rigid violations against human rights as they are doing through the United Nations and with the support of the US and European Union against the Islamic Republic of Iran and its program and of course against Hezbollah.
Now we know that they are really violating all kinds of human rights in the United States and in other places, in Lebanon because of some Lebanese, they belong to certain sects, they are put in prison and they have been interrogated and accused of all kinds of really fake things of financial support of the resistance in Lebanon.
That is why I guess the Israelis now really do not know what to do because, as I said, many people in Bulgaria, in Europe and in other places are anti-Israel and we know from the expeditions or from the people, flotilla or other ships, they went to help the Gazans and the Israelis prevented them and I guess they ...
