Two US-led soldiers serving with the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) have been killed in a militant attack in southern Afghanistan. “Two International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) service members died following an insurgent attack in southern Afghanistan today," the ISAF said in a statement. The statement did not disclose the nationalities of the victims or the exact location of the militant attack. However, the US-led troops serving in southern Afghanistan are mainly from the US, Britain and Australia. Insecurity continues to rise across Afghanistan despite the presence of about 130,000 US-led forces in the country. The high number of military casualties in Afghanistan has intensified opposition in the United States and other NATO member states against the protracted war in the country. AO/MA/HJL
