Iranian archer Zahra Dehqan has qualified for the 2012 London Olympic Games in the women’s recurve category. Dehqan earned Iran's last spot in the Olympics after beating Brina Bozic of Slovenia 6-2 on Friday in the third stage of the Archery World Cup, which was held in Ogden in the U.S. state of Utah. “I am so glad since I thought I missed the chance to advance to the 2012 Olympic Games, but I did it,” Dehghan said. The last individual Olympic qualifications took place for the countries that did not have a place (per gender). There were seven spots for the men available and eight for the women. They were contested by 80 men (from 35 countries) and 50 women (from 25 countries). In October 2011, Iranian archer Milad Vaziri finished in first place in the men’s individual recurve category at the 17th Asian Archery Championships in Iran and booked a berth at the London Olympics.
