A six-year-old Palestinian boy has been killed and two others have been injured in a fresh Israeli aerial attack on the Tel Aviv-blockaded Gaza Strip, Palestinian medics say.

The attack took place early on Saturday when an Israeli warplane targeted the eastern part of the city of Khan Yunis in southern Gaza, the medics said, AFP reported. They named the victim as Ali Alshwass.

Israeli jets also pounded two positions in central and northern Gaza overnight, leaving two Palestinians dead and over 20 others wounded.

On Friday, a Palestinian was killed and two others were injured in an Israeli strike on the al-Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza.

The Israeli regime has stepped up its aerial and ground assaults on Gaza over the recent days. The attacks have claimed over a dozen lives in the besieged coastal strip since Monday.

Gaza has been blockaded since 2007, a situation that has caused a decline in the standard of living, unprecedented levels of unemployment and unrelenting poverty.
