The Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei says the enmity of the global arrogance with the Islamic Republic stems from the plundering nature of the hegemonic powers.

In a meeting with the representatives of the 9th Majlis (parliament), the Leader said Wednesday that some imply the establishment and the world should not be placed in front of one another but such remarks are made without thought.

“The mere claim of a religious government and a religious democracy has naturally caused the pharaohs of the world to stand in the face of this establishment and this nation,” Ayatollah Khamenei said.

The Leader also called on lawmakers to be actively present on the political scene of the country, the region and the entire world.

“Majlis is an open scene [portraying] the ‘revolution, public opinion and major policies’ of the country and should adopt clear stances on domestic and international issues,” the Leader added.

Ayatollah Khamenei further said that taking timely and suitable stances on regional issues by Majlis members would certainly have an effect on the public opinion of the regional nations and countries that are influential in the regional developments.

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution stated that the independence of Majlis is a very important issue and a sign of the health of the country’s legislature.

Ayatollah Khamenei also put emphasis on the great importance of unity and empathy among Iranian officials.

“This does not mean that everybody should think in the same way…but it should be crystal-clear that despite different opinions and tastes, [all] officials are united and are proceeding in the direction of the country’s progress and the realization of the [Islamic] Revolution’s objectives,” the Leader said.

The 9th Majlis started its work late last month with 288 lawmakers.
