Iranian filmmaker Reza Mirkarimi’s Cube of Sugar is slated to take part in the 2012 edition of Cines Del Sur Film Festival in Granada, Spain.
Mirkarimi’s dramatic comedy will be screened at Isabel la Catolica Theater and Multicines Centro Cinemas movie theaters and as part of the event’s competition section.
A Cube of Sugar
is about a family who lives in an old Iranian city and recounts the story of their attempts to deal with different problems and incidents.
The film was also screened at the 2011 Montreal International Film Festival, the 2011 edition of Busan International film festival in South Korea and the 17th Vilnius International Film Festival in Lithuania.
Born in 1966, screenwriter and director Mirkarimi has been awarded in several domestic and international festivals.
The 2008 Golden St. George award of Moscow International Film Festival, the 2001 Best Screenplay Prize of Asia-Pacific Film Festival and the 2001 Special Jury Prize of Tokyo International Film Festival are among his many honors.

The 6th edition of Cines Del Sur Film Festival will be held from June 10 to 16, 2012.
