The office of Iran's English language Press TV news channel in Afghanistan's capital of Kabul has come under attack and one person has been injured.

“We do not know about the number of casualties… all Afghan forces are taking position near the US embassy, and our office is near the US office,” a Press TV correspondent said from Kabul.

“One of our colleagues has been injured and … our colleagues tell us that our neighbor offices have been hit by rockets,” the correspondent added.

On Tuesday, Taliban militants opened fire near the US Embassy and NATO's International Security Assistance Force headquarters in Kabul.

"Our insurgents attacked in Kabul city," Taliban spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid said, adding that, "Their target is the US Embassy, governmental organizations and other foreign organizations."

The Afghan National Directorate of Security said the fight with Taliban was ongoing.
