Iran's Minister of Education Hamid-Reza Haji-Babai says the recent wave of Islamic awakening in the Arab World brings about defeat for the United States.
“The Islamic awakening and the movements that have started in the Middle East and North Africa are moving ahead in favor of Iran and will bring about failure for the United States,” Haji-Babai said on Tuesday, IRNA reported.
In recent months, a wave of uprisings and revolutions has swept the Arab world.
In January, Tunisia saw the overthrow of Zine El Abidine Ben Ali in a popular revolution, which was followed by a revolution which toppled Hosni Mubarak in Egypt in February.
Bahrain, Jordan, Libya, Saudi Arabia and Yemen have since been the scene of protests against their totalitarian rulers.
The Iranian education minister also pointed out that the Western powers, the US in particular, have failed in achieving their goals through military action and have thus turned to soft war against the Muslim world.
He said, however, that the Iranian nation has become familiar with the enemies' schemes in the past three decades, and has caused the failure of such plots.
