Real Madrid's midfielder Hamit Altintop says that the quality of his performance improves when he is fasting in the Muslims holy month of Ramadan.
Altintop said in an interview with a local Turkish television that he has always been fasting since he reached puberty although it was more difficult when fasting days coincided with match days.
Turkey's national player added that Muslim players would feel more powerful during the holy month.
In the month of Ramadan, Muslims across the world fast and they refrain from eating, drinking, and other physical needs during the daylight hours.
Altintop was playing for German club Bayern Munich before joining Real Madrid.
Major Spanish team Real Madrid's Muslim players Karim Benzema and Mesut Ozil are also fasting with the permission of manager Jose Mourinho.
