Three Indonesian cities have held exhibitions of photographs taken by Jasem Ghazbanpour, which introduce the Persian-Islamic architecture of Iranian mosques.
The exhibitions, titled The Elegance of Shadows, kicked off on July 25, 2011, and run for two weeks in Bandung, Bogor and the capital city of Jakarta.
Visitors can see a selection of 40 photographs which depict the unique designs of Iranian mosques, and are displayed in an attempt to strengthen the unity between Sunni and Shia Muslims.
Ghazbanpour's photographs can also be seen online at photochilick.com for a month starting on July 26, 2011, Mehr news agency reported.
Born in the southern Iranian city of Khorramshahr, Ghazbanpour started his artistic activities with architectural photography, focusing on Persian houses.
His aerial pictures of Iranian landscapes and urban architecture are also published in a book titled From the Sky of Iran.
The Elegance of Shadows exhibitions are co-sponsored by Iran's Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO) and Kargah-e Tahrir Khial Cultural and Artistic Institute.
