Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman says Tel Aviv will never apologize to Turkey for its 2010 attack on a Gaza-bound international aid flotilla that killed nine Turkish nationals and injured 50 others.

“As far as we are concerned, there is no reason to apologize,” said Lieberman on Wednesday, Jerusalem Post reported.

“Turkey wants to give the impression that they can dictate terms, and we will accept them as if they are a superpower. It is a matter of honor to them,” he added.

Meanwhile, Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu emphasized on Wednesday that Turkey seriously demands an apology from the Israeli regime as well as compensations for the families of those killed and wounded in the brutal attack on the Gaza-bound aid flotilla.

The Israeli military attacked the Freedom Flotilla in international waters in the Mediterranean Sea on May 31, 2010, killing nine Turkish nationals aboard the Turkish-flagged MV Mavi Marmara, and injuring about 50 other individuals that were part of the team on the six-ship aid convoy to the Gaza Strip.
