Hezbollah Secretary General Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah
Hezbollah Secretary General Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah has offered his condolences to Iran over the recent terrorist attack in southeastern city of Chabahar, which killed and injured scores of people.
In an address to hundreds of thousands of Lebanese during a Thursday ceremony on the religious occasion of Ashura, Nasrallah expressed his condolences to Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei and the Iranian government and people over the terrorist attack, IRNA reported.
The 10th day of Muharram, known as Ashura, commemorates the anniversary of the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (PBUH) -- third Shia Imam and the grandson of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
On Wednesday, terrorists targeted a crowd of Shia mourners marking the anniversary of the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (PBUH) in Chabahar.
At least 33 people lost their lives in the massive bomb explosion which also left more than 95 others, including women and children, injured.
Pakistan-based terrorist group Jundallah has claimed responsibility for the deadly attack.
The terrorist group has carried out numerous bombings, assassination attempts, and terrorist attacks in Iran.
Jundallah's leader Abdolmalek Rigi was arrested by Iranian intelligence forces in February 2010 and executed in June for 79 counts of crimes, including armed robbery, bombing operations and armed attacks on police and civilians.
Iranian Interior Minister Mostafa Mohammad Najjar said on Wednesday perpetrators behind the terrorist attack in Chabahar have been trained and equipped by foreign elements beyond the country's borders.
"A number of terrorists that are being trained beyond [Iran's] eastern borders in Pakistan have carried out this terrorist attack," he told reporters on Wednesday.
Mohammad Najjar added that the terrorists received equipment and training from foreign elements.
