Iran's Judiciary chief says that the Obama administration should learn a lesson from the outcome of the recent US mid-term parliamentary elections.
Ayatollah Sadeq Larijani said on Saturday that losing 70 seats by Democrats in US Congress was a real defeat for US President Barack Obama.
"Democrats lost 70 seats in the US congressional elections as a result of Obama's wrong policies. It was an apparent defeat, we hope they learn a lesson from it," Ayatollah Larijani said was quoted by Mehr News Agency as saying.
"The clear message of US mid-term elections was that deceitful and empty mottos might attract voters in the beginning, but when promises are not kept and people see behind-the-scene realities, they tend to avoid such dishonest mottos," he added.
Ayatollah Larijani -- whose brother Ali is the Parliament speaker --noted that although Obama became president with the motto of change, he did not make any changes in foreign policy or domestic issues.
"We see now that what Obama promised with regard to brining changes in Iraq and Afghanistan have not been materialized yet. The US is still preventing the formation of an independent Iraqi government despite the consensus of the Iraqi political groups," he concluded.
