Iranian lawmakers have called on the government to retaliate against the United States for imposing restrictions on eight Iranian officials.
In a Sunday statement, the Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission described Washington's action against Islamic Republic officials as a "move against the Iranian nation."
The US move comes at a time when Middle East nations have been made aware of Washington's ill-intentions in creating regional crises.
"This is while the Muslim community and especially the unbiased authorities and elites in the world acknowledge Iran's positive role in regional developments," the statement further read.
The lawmakers also underscored that any move against Iranian authorities will be met with 'united and cohesive response' from the Iranian nation and government, Fars News Agency reported.
"Iranians have turned sanctions into bigger opportunities to develop the country, and they (Americans) are now facing an Iran which will stand up to US acquisitiveness with might," added the statement.
