At least two people have been killed in a US drone attack in northwestern Pakistan near Afghan border while allegedly targeting a rebel compound.
The strike took place in Khushali Toorikhel village southeast of Miranshah, the main town in North Waziristan tribal district known as a stronghold for pro-Taliban and al-Qaeda militants.
"A US drone fired two missiles on a militant compound, killing two rebels," AFP quoted a senior Pakistani security official as saying on condition of anonymity.
Another security official confirmed the attack and the death toll.
