The Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Ali Khamenei urges Tehran municipality officials to uphold the Islamic cultural values.

In a meeting with Tehran's mayors and City Council officials on Monday, the leader called for harmony, cooperation and friendly relations between the Municipality, City Council, government and governmental organizations, IRNA reported.

The leader described public transportation, environment, housing and traffic as some of the most burdensome problems of Iran's cosmopolitan capital.

“Cultural considerations play an important role in all Iranian cities especially Tehran as the capital of the country and we should pay more attention to our Islamic Revolution and religious values.”

Ayatollah Khamenei further urged transparency in public funding and avoidance of political differences in rendering public services as significant issues in administering the civil affairs.
