Tehran loans painting to Rotterdam

'Trinidad Fernandez' by Kees van Dongen
The Tehran Museum of Contemporary Arts (TMCA) has loaned a painting by Dutch artist Kees van Dongen to be displayed at a museum in Rotterdam.


Trinidad Fernandez was sent to the Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen to be showcased during the All eyes on Kees van Dongen exhibition from Sep. 18, 2010 to Jan. 23, 2011.

The four-month event will exhibit about sixty paintings and a selection of drawings, ceramics, posters and photographs from international museums and collection including those in New York, Monaco, Geneva and Moscow.

Kees van Dongen is one of the most prominent artists of the Netherlands and famous practitioners of Fauvism. His 1907 Trinidad Fernandez is part of the TMCA international collection.

The Tehran Museum of Contemporary Arts was established in 1977 and is believed to house one of the largest collections of valuable Western modern artworks.
