China's Red Man International Cartoon & Humor Contest has selected Iranian cartoonist Masoud Shojaei Tabatabai to judge in this year's festival.

Red Man, which aims to introduce new cartoonists to the world of art, has been known for its watchful juries that come from various countries around the globe.

The 47-year-old cartoonist began with painting before moving into caricature and cartoon.

Shojaei has judged nearly 20 cartoon festivals, including the Aydin Dogan (Turkey, 2005), Guangxi International Cartoon Contest (China, 2007 and 2008), and The 36rd International Piracicaba Cartoon Contest (Brazil, 2009).

Artists from China, Italy, and Germany will be working as the Iranian cartoonist's jury partners in the event.

The third edition of the Red Man International Cartoon and Humor Contest is to be held with the main theme of disaster.

Cartoonists are expected to depict earthquake, flood, drought, and snow disasters.
