Bahrain's Oil and Gas Affairs Minister Abdul-Hussain Bin Ali Mirza, in a meeting with President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, has lauded the Islamic Republic's progress.

The Bahraini minister, during the meeting of Thursday, said relations between Tehran and Manama have flourished during past years and that Bahrain is proud of Iran's progress.

He also handed Bahrain's King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa's letter to the Iranian president.

Ahmadinejad, for his part, called for the expansion of mutual and multilateral cooperation with Bahrain and other countries in the region.

"There is no obstacle in the way of increasing relations between the two countries," Ahmadinejad said.

The Iranian president evaluated the relations between Bahrain and Iran as positive and said Tehran views the progress of other regional countries as its own progress.
