Iranian Ambassador to Bahrain Hossein Amirabdolahian
Iranian Ambassador to Bahrain Hossein Amirabdolahian has blasted Israel's threats of waging a war against Iran, saying such remarks stem from fear of annihilation.

“Israel's psychological warfare derives from intimidation. Tel Aviv does not dare to launch any strike against the Islamic Republic,” Fars news agency quoted Amirabdolahian as saying in a meeting with Bahrain's Parliament Speaker Khalifa Ahmad al-Zahrani on Wednesday.

“Should Israel make the slightest act of aggression, it will receive a firm and crushing response,” he went on to say.

The Iranian envoy to Manama underscored that stability and security in the region are the Islamic Republic's top priorities and that the establishment of peace hinges on regional states.

According to Amirabdolahian, super powers are trying hard to prevent the forging of close bonds between regional countries as they pursue their own benefits in the Middle East.

“The United States and its allies profit most by triggering regional rift, instability and cynicism,” the top Iranian diplomat noted.

The Bahraini parliament speaker, for his part, said fighting against terrorism is among the top cooperation priorities of the two countries and Bahrain looks forward to reinforcing ties with Iran on all levels.

“Parliamentary relations of the two countries have witnessed a significant increase in the regional and international arena and we will continue with this trend of cooperation,” al-Zahrani went on to say.

The two countries' officials exchanged views on matters of common interests as well as regional and international developments.
