Iranian parliament speaker Ali Larijani has met with President Ahmadinejad on Saturday to congratulate his re-election as the country's president.

Parliament members congratulated Ahmadinejad's re-election and renewed their support for him in an earlier meeting with the president on June 22.

Larijani did not participate in the meeting.

The meeting which came after Iran's electoral watchdog, the Guardian Council, confirmed the result of the June 12 poll is also believed to have been arranged to reject reports of a political divide among members of Iran's Principlist camp.
