Marijuana smoke has been classified along with tobacco smoke and hundreds of other chemicals as a carcinogen, a new study finds.
While previous studies had reported that the active chemical in marijuana promotes the death of cancerous cells in the brain, a new study shows chemicals in marijuana smoke cause cancer and reproductive problems.
According to a report released by the Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment, marijuana smoke contains 33 of the same harmful chemicals as tobacco smoke.
Authorities urge individuals to consider marijuana's hazardous effects.
