As Iran gears up for the upcoming presidential election, candidates seek to exercise every opportunity to encourage a high voter turnout.
Mohsen Rezaei, one of the three hopefuls trying his luck against the incumbent president, recently tasked his aide Sadeq Tabatabaei with presenting the plans of the former IRGC chief to Iranian expatriates, Tabnak website reported on Thursday.
Tabatabaei, Rezaei's aide in the affairs of Iranian expatriates, will spell out his plans on the formation of a coalition government, an idea floated earlier by the candidate, the report added.
Tabatabaei, who was a former spokesman for Iran's Provisional Government, will also shed light on Rezaei's economic policies.
Rezaei decided to enter the presidential race on May 6 after months of talks revolving around his joining the race with the idea of a coalition government that excludes partisanship and favors politicians from different political inclinations.
The former chief of Iran's Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) advocates a collective decision in governing the country rather than a one-man-agenda.
Other than President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Rezaei will be competing against former Majlis Speaker Mehdi Karroubi and the last prime minister Mir-Hossein Mousavi in the 10th presidential elections.
Over 46 million people are eligible to vote on June 12. Iranians aged 18 and above can take part in the election.
