There is a major ongoing security scare at New Delhi International Airport where reports say security forces shot dead six gunmen.

But security officials deny the claim and say there is no confirmation as yet but they are combing the airport inch by inch. The officials say the same procedure is underway at Delhi's domestic airport located in the same area as the international facility.

News agencies reports said late Thursday that six gunmen were killed at the Indira Gandhi International Airport.

Airports in India went on high alert Thursday following fresh attack warnings as officials said India suspects two senior leaders of a banned Pakistani militant group orchestrated the deadly Mumbai attacks.
