International Criminal Court has been flooded with South Ossetians' briefs accusing Georgia of 'genocide' in the pro-independence republic.
The court is still to receive a blizzard of 2,200 lawsuits which the province's bereavement-stricken public have submitted through the 'Organization of the South Ossetian people against genocide.'
"About 300 of them have been sent to the Hague court, and 200 will be presented to the court in the next few days," Ria Novosti quoted the head of the body, Zhanna Galeyeva, as saying.
Russian prosecutors are also accumulating evidence from the locals that could lends weight to the genocide allegations.
Last month,Russian Premier Vladimir Putin had also said "In my opinion they are already elements of some kind of genocide of the Ossetian people" calling for an inquiry into the charges.
The Russia-Georgia conflict erupted on August 7after Georgia launched a major offensive to reclaim the breakaway province. Moscow responded by sending troops into the area where most of the residents hold Russian citizenship.
