Edinburgh Int'l Festival has staged a work of Mahmoud Darwish to have a share of grieving and mourning for the Palestinian national poet.

The Edinburgh event explored one of Darwish's poems titled Jidariyya to gain a deeper understanding of the Palestinian culture and to honor the poet known as the heart and tongue of the Palestinian people.

Darwish penned Jidariyya, literally meaning mural, as a meditation on death, loss, love, language and life. It is a cry against his personal obliteration as well as that of his culture.

Palestine's most recognized contemporary voice died on August 9 at the age of 67 three days after heart surgery at a hospital in Houston, Texas.
