A 33-year-old man along with two other people is arrested by the police in London over the brutal murder of two French students.

The man, Nigel Edward Farmer was charged with the murder on Wednesday while the other two have simply been arrested.

Metropolitan police charged Farmer with the murders of Gabriel Ferez and Laurent Bonomo on June 29. He is scheduled to appear at Greenwich magistrates' court on Thursday.

Other charges brought against Farmer include arson and attempting to pervert the course of justice.

This is while the other two people under arrest over the killings have only been described as a 35-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman and were taken into custody in south London, AP reported.

At first, the police were under the impression that the two students had died in the fire, but following the autopsies, it was revealed that they had been stabbed to death.

The accused, Nigel Farmer turned himself in to a London police station on Monday to be treated for burns. He was eventually questioned and, finally charged.

This is while, the police are still appealing for witnesses and information about the incident while continuing with their forensic examinations of the apartment where the two men were horrendously stabbed, gagged and set on fire. Bonomo was stabbed nearly 200 times while about 80 of the wounds were inflicted after he was dead and Ferez was stabbed nearly 50 times.

The two French students, who were both 23, were bioengineering students taking part in a three-month DNA research project at Imperial College in London.
