Child labor in India
The World Day Against Child Labor is observed across the world, raising awareness about an issue still ignored in many countries.

Children Around the world are being used for domestic work, mining, agriculture and other hard labors.

Millions of children also work for long hours in factories, mostly in dangerous conditions. The children are unaware of the liberty of childhood and suffer from the cruel trend generated by the so-called civilized society.

The International Labor Organization (ILO) has declared June 12 as World Day Against Child Labor, in an effort to put an end to 'child slavery'.

According the ILO estimate, about 165 million children between the ages of five and 14 are involved in child labor across the world, a horrific figure for a modern civilization.

Child labor condition are very bad in India, the world's second largest most populated country having the highest number of child labor of the world. Despite the strict laws, the child labor is increasing day-by-day in India.

Poverty and illiteracy are the main reasons behind the increasing number of child labors in India and poor parents encourage their children to earn money by working instead of sending them to school.

On this day parents are reminded of their children's real need for education and the necessity of proper training for acquiring skills that will help them pave their way in the world and achieve a decent quality of life.
