Russia denies downing Georgian drone

Russia has rejected the UN report that it 'violated' Georgia's airspace and downed a Georgian surveillance aircraft over Abkhazia.
"We deny this report. Our planes did not violate anyone's airspace and therefore could not have fired a shot", AFP quoted the Russian Air Force spokesman, Colonel Alexander Drobyshevsky as saying.
"On April 20, our fighter jets were not flying" added the spokesman rejecting a claim by the UN monitors that, on the day, a Russian Air Force's MiG-29 jet gunned down a Georgian unmanned spy plane before flying back into the Russian airspace.
