Iran has published its first 'Medical Geological Atlas' for assessing the conceptual relationship between geogenic factors and diseases.

The ministries of Health and Medical Education, and Industries and Mines have gathered the color atlas in Persian and English in order to provide researchers with a perspective on the distribution of various diseases and related deaths in the country.

The atlas will assist scientists with their thematic and regional researches on diseases such as Alzheimer's, anemia, behavioral disorders, diabetes, cancer and hypertension,

Medical Geology is an emerging scientific discipline that examines the impacts of geological materials and processes on humans and the ecosystem health.
