Pelosi: Share ticket, not 'a good idea'

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi says Democratic hopefuls Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama should not share vice presidential tickets.
"No, I don't think it's a good idea," Pelosi said in a Thursday interview with CNN when asked if the Democratic candidates should pick each other as running mates.
"I think, first of all, the candidate - whoever he or she may be - should choose his or her own vice presidential candidate," she said.
This is while some analysts in the Democratic Party had suggested that a share ticket would put an end to a hard-fought contest for the Democratic nomination between frontrunner Senator Barack Obama and Senator Hillary Clinton.
"And there's plenty of talent to go around to draw upon for a good, strong ticket," continued Pelosi who will chair the Democratic National Convention in Denver in August.
She added that she agrees with Democratic National Committee chairman Howard Dean that the nomination should be settled before the national convention.
Pundits believe the 'everlasting' Obama-Clinton fight has pushed the party into a weak corner and may have severly damaged their chance of defeating presumptive Republican nominee Senator John McCain in November's general election.
