India's Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd says it will ship its first ever high-sulphur diesel cargo to Iran by the end of April.

A 30-thousand-ton cargo sale was made after negotiations with the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC), said MRPL managing director R. Rajamani.

"We have a long-standing relationship with Iran. We have been processing their crude right from the beginning and we are open to a long-term product supply agreement with them depending on availability and pricing," Reuters quoted him as saying.

Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL) is a subsidiary of India's state-run petroleum company Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited.
