Iran's Interior Minister, Mostafa Pour-Mohammadi, says over seventy-one percent of Principlists have found way into the parliament.
Speaking at a Saturday press conference, Pour-Mohammadi confirmed that over twenty-five million voters had cast ballots in Friday's parliamentary elections, indicating the turnout for the vote stands at over 60 percent.
He hailed the nation's massive turnout had thwarted the enemy's attempts to undermine the country's legislative elections.
When asked what he believed was the reason behind the high turnout, he said the nation's concern for the country's future, as well as their 'political maturity'.
Pour-Mohammadi added that the results would be out two days ahead of the new Iranian year, which will be on March 21.
He praised the Iranian media for its extensive coverage of the 8th parliamentary elections.
