Iran's former top nuclear negotiator has said that the upcoming Majlis elections plays a key role in Iran's diplomacy vis-à-vis the West.

Ali Larijani, also the Leader's Representative to the Supreme National Security Council, noted that the people should elect the most qualified candidates in the parliamentary elections slated for March 14.

"I can swear that issuing an anti-Iran resolution by the UNSC was biased, because there was no justification for such a resolution immediately after a positive report by IAEA chief, Mohamed ElBaradei," he added.

Referring to the significance of voter turnout in the Majlis elections, Larijani pointed out that the higher the voter turnout, the brighter the country's future political landscape will be.

"People expect the future lawmakers to do their best," he added.
