Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Mohammad-Ali Hosseini has said that Tehran requests the 5+1 group to adopt a logical approach.

Hosseini made the statement at his weekly press conference Sunday in reference to the session which is scheduled to be held by the members of the 5+1 Group [the five permanent members of the UN Security Council - China, Russia, France, Britain and the US - plus Germany] on Monday.

He added that contesting the rights of the Iranian nation and international regulations is an inefficient policy which will bear no fruit.

Asked about the possibility of the adoption of a third round of sanctions against Iran, he said that the two previous sanctions imposed on the country by the Security Council had no legal or rational justification.

The spokesman stated, "Removal of ambiguities has clearly upheld Iran's stance that sending the nuclear dossier to the Security Council was an unfounded and irrational move."

He noted that based on official letters and the recently-released report by Director-General of the International Atomic Energy Agency Mohamed ElBaradei, all six topics mentioned in the agreement between Iran and the IAEA (the Action Plan) have been resolved; at the present time, Iran's nuclear position is normalized.

Hosseini stated that allegations raised about Iran's peaceful nuclear case were unfounded, adding that Iran has no intention of responding to baseless allegations.
