Visitors look at Iran Safavid silk carpets
Turkey is showcasing Iranian Safavid artifacts in an exhibition titled Istanbul, Isfahan, and Delhi: Three Capitals of Islamic Art.

Some 250 pieces of Islamic art from the Louvre Museum collection have been loaned to Istanbul's Sakip Sabanci Museum for the exhibition.

The exhibition includes works from the Turkey's Ottoman Empire, the Safavid Empire in Iran and India's Mughal Empire.

The Safavid School of art is considered as one of the greatest in the Islamic world.

The exhibition, which kicked off February 18, will last continue until June 1st.
