The Hollywood Bowl will host a concert by the Silk Road ensemble featuring Iran's Kayhan Kalhor, acclaimed classical Persian musician.
Hollywood will be treated to a compilation of works by the Silk Road ensemble to commemorate the world-famous mystic Persian poet Mowlavi.
'A Celebration of Rumi: The Sights & Sounds of Mystic Persia' is expected to explore poems by the Persian mystic poet Mowlavi through the music of Iran.
The traditional Iranian music will be performed using various traditional instruments and Kalhor himself will be playing the Kamancheh (a violin-type instrument).
A series of live calligraphy projections will visually accompany the performance.
Kayhan Kalhor, known as one the finest traditional musicians in Iran, is scheduled to perform on September 27, 2008.
