Libyan Prime Minister al-Baghdadi al-Mahmoudi has emphasized Iran's absolute right to the application of peaceful nuclear energy.
Iran's first Vice-President, Parviz Davoodi, and the Libyan prime minister attended a press conference Wednesday night in Tripoli.
Elaborating on the cornerstones of his meetings with Davoodi, al-Mahmoudi proclaimed Libya's support for Iran's nuclear program.
The Libyan prime minister noted that the necessity for prompt withdrawal of US forces from Iraq was also highlighted during their talks.
Al-Mahmoudi described the result of his negotiations with Iran's first vice-president as constructive and positive, saying the two states agreed to joint cooperation in Africa and Latin America.
He added Iran and Libya are set to establish a joint political committee at the ministerial level.
Prior to the press conference, Davoodi and al-Mahmoudi signed more than nine agreements in economic, culture, education and trade areas.
