A senior Russian military official has said Tehran and Moscow will continue their bilateral military and technical cooperation.
Head of the Russian Federal Service for Military and Technical Cooperation, Mikhail Dmitriev said air defense and radar systems are the main priorities for the two countries.
The Russian official made the remark following the fourth meeting of the Iran-Russia Joint Defense Cooperation Commission held in Tehran on Thursday, IRNA reported, citing the Russian daily
Vremya Novosti.
Dmitriev described a US $700 million deal between Iran and Russia, under which Moscow has provided Tehran with the Tor M1 Air Defense System, as the largest arms contract between the two states.
He said Iranian forces will be trained to work with the system, which Russian technicians are installing.
