Oscar winning director Oliver Stone is slated to visit Iran to negotiate making a documentary about President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

“Stone has often expressed his eagerness to make a documentary titled 'The Truth about Ahmadinejad' about the Iranian President,” said film producer Ali-Reza Sajjadpour.

“We have invited Mr. Stone to come here for direct talks on the film; he has agreed and will visit Iran soon,” he said.

He added that Iranian officials would only meet with Stone himself rather than with his representative.

Oliver Stone has repeatedly asked permission to make a film about the Iranian president, emphasizing that 'dialogue is necessary between the Iranian and American nations' and that the film could help meet this need.

The President's office rejected Stone's first request in June, but the President later approved in August only if certain conditions were met.
