Deputy Chief of Islamic Hamas movement Musa Abu Marzouk has called the international US-sponsored Middle East peace conference a mirage.

Marzouk said that by organizing the event, Washington seeks to deceive Muslims and Palestinians and to continue ramping up its propaganda machine in Arab states.

The Zionist regime is making efforts to portray the Annapolis summit as a last solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, he said, adding winning recognition for Israel with Jerusalem (al-Quds) as its capital and denying the Palestinian refugees the right of return are the focal points of the summit for the Zionist regime.

Musa Abu Marzouk noted that the Zionist regime does not recognize the Palestinian government, insisting the conference will be a failure.

The Palestinian people have no alternative but to continue resistance, he concluded.
